For many years I have enjoyed painting on silk. It all started as a hobby in my native France, and continued when I moved to London.
I first painted scarves and cushions for my friends...but soon I sold my work to Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Fortnum & Mason as well as private clients, and worked with interior designers creating pieces to specification. After several years spent studying and with not much time for anything else, I established my own Couture studio, designing and making bespoke clothes to a private clientele. Although I enjoyed it I really wanted to paint again. This is when I thought of marrying both my skills as a fashion designer and a painter to create painted clothes. They are exclusive pieces that can be passed on from generation to generation like heirloom. Each piece is unique and nothing is spared nor counted to create the very best. |
I now work exclusively on commission, and occasionally produce a small collection that I show privately. I have also extended these elements of fashion into the home decor with a collection of cushions for people who have a strong sense of colour and style.
I also paint murals or pieces that can be framed, and had a few on show in various galleries, the latest being the PM Gallery in London. I also showed my cushions at the House & Garden Exhibition at Olympia. My passion for beautiful things probably comes from my early childhood spent at my grandmother’s house, in a small town near the Atlantic Ocean. When it was not possible to go to the beach, we would take refuge in the attic. There we would explore all the trunks and cases bursting with the most marvellous and intriguing objects collected over the years and from all over the world... |
